The Monthly EV Charging Cost
EV charging cost is expressed by JPY(Japanese Yen)/km. The following figure shows the measured Monthly EV Charging Cost including consumption TAX, Renewable energy Levy and Fuel cost adjustment.
- EV monthly charging cost is around JPY4/km in average shown in the following figure.
EV is economical
- The price of gasoline is about JPY180/litter in January 2025.
- The actual mileage of gas-powered vehicle is 10-15km/liter, resulting that the gasoline cost is JPY12-18/km.
- The actual mileage of HEV is 20-25km/liter, resulting that the gasoline cost is JPY9-7.2/km.
- The air-conditioner is used in Winter and Summer.
- Hence, the monthly EV charging cost is less than half of the gasoline cost for gas-powered vehicle and also 2/3 of HEV.
